A .450 SIX-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION SERVICE-REVOLVER, MODEL 'M1867', serial no. 4625,
dated for February 1872, with blued octagonal 6in. barrel, dove-tailed block and blade fore-sight, sighting notch to top-strap, two-piece frame with side-plates, Roman numeral 'II' stamped to left hand side of frame and the date stamp above trigger, plain blued six-shot cylinder with matching number, 'Adams Patent' and 'AJ' monogram trademark to right hand side of frame, top-hinged loading gate, chequered one-piece walnut grip, iron pommel-cap with eye for lanyard ring, separate half back-strap and captive under-barrel ejector rod, the whole retaining much original finish, some scuffs and fading to high spots.
