professionally converted from a Model 1889 Infantry Rifle circa 1900, with blued 24 1/2in. barrel, signed 'G. BURGIN, BASEL', ramp fore-sight, elevating tangent rear-sight, blind fluted straight-pull receiver with matted top, toggle bolt handle and ring safety to rear, walnut full-stock with applied half pistol-grip (right hand side of butt inlet for a small plaque now absent), schnabel tip, iron furniture and fitted with an unsigned early 20th century telescopic sight in claw mounts serial number '2497' and a later basketweave leather sling
