A RARE .32 PERCUSSION UNDERHAMMER PEPPERBOX REVOLVER WITH SMOOTH BARREL GROUP, no visible serial number,
circa 1840, with rare six-shot smooth profile 4in. barrel cluster, rear-facing unguarded nipples, medium sized rounded borderline and scroll engraved iron action, ring trigger, the left hand side signed 'BLUNT & SYMS NEW YORK', borderline and florally engraved grip-straps and smooth walnut bag-shaped grips, the fixing screw with white-metal star-shaped escutcheons
Other Notes: Whilst pepperbox revolvers by Blunt & Syms are not rare per se, examples with smooth barrel groups are seldom encountered and extremely desirable to collectors
