A PAIR OF 50-BORE PERCUSSION PAKTONG SIDE-HAMMER PISTOLS, UNSIGNED, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1840, with octagonal 4 3/4in. barrels, pinched bead fore-sights, carved snail, standing notch rear-sights to front of the scroll engraved top-tang, squared scroll engraved box-lock action with radiused corners, engraved dolphin headed side-hammers, finely chequered walnut butts, squared escutcheons to both wrists and with white-metal banded flat pommels inlet with oval white-metal escutcheons, provision for belt-hooks to the left hand sides of the actions (removed, holes filled), guarded trigger and captive iron under-barrel ramrod on applied paktong ribs
