A SUBSTANTIAL 10-BORE PERCUSSION OVER-UNDER MAN-STOPPER or HOWDAH-PISTOL, UNSIGNED, FOR RENOVATION,
probably Belgian circa 1840, with tapering twist iron 6in. barrels (traces of rifling), solid scroll engraved top-tang, borderline and scroll engraved back-action locks with re-blacked hammers (left lock at fault), walnut bag-shaped chequered grip (large loss above left lock), guarded double triggers and provision for ramrod on right hand side of barrels (missing), finish worn throughout with loss to detail, together with a later walnut case adapted and relined in burgundy baize for this pistol
