circa 1864, with 8in. octagonal barrel signed PATENTED SEPT 14 1858 E. REMINGTON & SONS ILION NEWYORK USA' and marked 'NEW MODEL', conical nickel fore-sight, top-strap with sighting groove, solid iron frame, plain six-shot cylinder with safety notches, articulated under-barrel rammer, brass trigger guard and smooth walnut grips, retaining fair traces of original blued finish and 'W' inspector's marks
