AN 11-BORE PERCUSSION SINGLE-BARRELLED FOWLING-PIECE, no visible serial number,
circa 1835 but probably converted from flint, with browned damascus octagonal to sixteen-sided to round 31 1/2in. barrel signed on the top-flat 'R. ANCELL PERTH', bead fore-sight, scroll engraving to breech-block, moulded snail with replacement white-metal plug, border and scroll engraved bevel-edged lock of flint form with stepped and clipped tail, slab sided hammer, walnut half-stock finely chequered at the wrist and with raised shallow cheek-piece, iron furniture including heel-plate (pitted) and trigger guard bow with raised and scrolled lower tang, white metal barrel key escutcheons and fore-end tip, turned ramrod pipes and period working replacement under-barrel ramrod
