30in. nitro reproved bold damascus barrels, rib engraved 'J. PURDEY 314 1/2 OXFORD STREET. LONDON.' (rubbed), 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, Purdey patent first pattern thumbhole underlever, patent no. 1104 of 2nd May 1863, slender standing breech with carved percussion fences, rebounding back-action locks, border and fine acanthus scroll engraving, the underside with 'PURDEY'S PATENT', retaining slight traces of historic renewed colour-hardening, 14 1/8in. figured stock, weight 6lb. 12oz.
