dated for 1865, with Whitworth rifled 20in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, lift up breech marked with 'WD' ordnance stamps only, plain lock marked with the date, 'ENFIELD' and a 'VR' crown device to tail, external hammer, chained nipple protector, walnut full-stock with iron furniture including heel-plate with central sprung trapdoor, trigger-guard, nose-cap, single barrel-band and jag-ended under-barrel clearing rod, the left side of butt stamped 'UYC' over '128' (Uxbridge Yeomanry Cavalry), Enfield roundel to right side of butt and saddle-bar fitted to the left stock cheek, leather rear-sight protector, much original finish throughout
