AN INTERESTING 16-BORE FLINTLOCK MAN-STOPPER PISTOL SIGNED TO THE SHIP AYACONORA, no visible serial number,
circa 1795, with octagonal 3 3/4in. barrel, the top-flat signed in silver script 'SHIP AYACONORA', solid engraved top-tang, slightly curved bevel edged flat lock with borderline engraving and round stepped tail, plain pan, bridled frizzen with roller spring, walnut fore-end with smooth bag-shaped butt (repairs to fore-end), iron trigger guard bow with pineapple finial, single barrel key and period horn-tipped wood ramrod

Other Notes: No ship of the Royal Navy has ever been named Ayaconora so one can only surmise that it was a merchant vessel or in foreign service
