A SCARCE CASED SOUTH AFRICAN COMMEMORATIVE FOLDING POCKET-KNIFE,
circa 1890, 3 1/2in. overall closed, the bronze scales on one side with embossed depictions of Kruger and De Wet, the reverse with the coat of arms of the Transvaal and Orange Free-State and inscribed 'TRANSVAAL, LENDRACHT MAAKT MACHT. ORANGE-FREIST', with large and small folding blades marked 'MADE IN GERMANY G. FELIX, SOLINGEN (remainder obscured), folding corkscrew to reverse, complete with its jade green velvet lined blue leatherette box (clasp incomplete)
