first quarter of the 19th century, with 32 1/2in. strongly curved single edged blade, 'P' shaped iron knuckle-bow with straight cross-guard and turned down quillion, twin broad langets, plain iron dove's head back-strap and ribbed leather grip (wire binding absent), complete with its iron scabbard, the whole darkly stained
