A SCOTTISH 1831 PATTERN DISMOUNTABLE CROSS-HILTED SWORD, serial no. 99059,
bearing the device of a boar's head above the motto 'NE OBLVISCARIS' in a banner on one side and 'SANS PEUR' on the reverse (1st Argyle & Sutherlands), with straight 33in. double-edged blade etched with scrolls within arabesque panels, twin narrow central blind fullers, inlet proof-mark at the forte, plain plated cross-guard with ball-ended quillions, wire-bound fish-skin grip-piece and flat based bun pommel, complete with its leather field scabbard with plated mounts and ball end.
