HAMISH MACKIE A FINE NEW BRONZE SCULPTURE OF A CLIMBING PINE MARTEN,

Product Details

HAMISH MACKIE
A FINE NEW BRONZE SCULPTURE OF A CLIMBING PINE MARTEN,
mounted on a marble plinth, signed by the artist, measuring approx. 32in. x 18in. x 8in.

Other Notes: The Pine Marten is the elusive cousin of the more common Ferret and Weasel, all belonging to the Mustelid family. A protected species in the United Kingdom, the Pine Marten was considered extinct in England until very recently, when evidence suggests that some recolonisation from Scotland may have occurred.

Hamish's bronze Pine Marten Climbing sculpture shows this shy animal on a tree branch, with his characteristic bushy tail, long body and small rounded ears. It is available in a limited edition of 12.

This endangered animal, who once freely roamed our forests, continues to be threatened by loss of habitat and human interference. Hamish's sensitive rendering reminds us what a great loss it would be to our national wildlife if the population of Pine Martens reduces any further
