29in. nitro reproved Whitworth steel chopperlump barrels, rib engraved 'JAMES WOODWARD & SONS. 64. ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON. S.W. MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, arcaded fences, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, removable striker discs, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, best fine border and scroll engraving, the underside with an elaborate cartouche relief-engraved 'WOODWARD'S SINGLE TRIGGER', retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 15in. highly-figured semi-pistolgrip stock (small crack at head) including 1 3/8in. wooden extension (inked to match), weight 6lb. 7oz., in its brass-cornered oak and leather case

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed in 1909 for the Rev. J.H. Harrison with 29in. barrels, as a single trigger
