29in. replacement nitro barrels (circa 1961), rib engraved 'BARRELS BY WILLIAM FORD LTD. BIRMINGHAM.', beaded border and scroll engraved at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/2 choke, unsigned plain scroll-back treble-grip action incorporating A.E. Lard patent single selective trigger, patent no. 3952 of February 2nd 1899, use number 287, J. Deeley and L.B. Taylor patent hand-detachable locks, patent no. 17731 of 28th July 1897, use number 627, Westley Richards improved patent toplever, patent no. 1572 of 14th June 1871, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, detachable floorplate serial numbered 16417, triggerplate with gold-inlaid 'L' and 'R' details, triggerguard tang with no serial number, retaining some original colour-hardening and finish, 15 1/8in. figured stock including 1 1/2in. wooden extension, Deeley & Edge patent fore-end release catch, weight 6lb. 12oz.
