A GOOD PAIR OF 60-BORE PERCUSSION TARGET-PISTOLS, serial no's 14161,
circa 1860, with re-blued octagonal 11 1/2in. barrels, the top left-hand flats signed 'AUGUSTE FRANCOTTE BREVETE A LIEGE', the right hand flats 'FAIT POUR J. CANEDO, 611 RIVADAVIA, BUENOS-AIRES', dove-tailed bead fore-sights, standing notch rear-sight adjustable via a key, colour-hardened scroll engraved breeches and top-tangs, carved percussion snails and fences, isolated border and scroll engraved colour-hardened hump-back locks (colour faded, hammers re-finished), finely chequered walnut half-stocks with swept butts, colour-hardened spire pommels, blued trigger-guard bows with finger-spurs and no provision for ramrod, much original finish except where noted
