A RARE .41 PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT REVOLVER, MODEL 'BUTTERFIELD'S ARMY', serial no. 228,
produced between 1861-62, with iron 7in. octagonal barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, bronze solid frame (traces of plating), the top-strap signed 'BUTTERFIELD'S PATENT DEC. 11. 1855, PHILADA.', plain blued cylinder, rounded action-body with centrally mounted hammer and special disc priming mechanism, the priming magazine located forwards of the trigger-guard bow, smooth walnut grips with flared heel, (left hand grip repaired) and articulated under-barrel loading lever
