A RARE .36 PERCUSSION SIX-SHOT REVOLVER, MODEL '1851 NAVY', serial no. 128829, WITH DETACHABLE 'CANTEEN' BUTT-STOCK,
for 1862, with blued 7 1/2in. octagonal barrel, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, the top-flat signed 'ADDRESS COL COLT LONDON', plain blued cylinder with roll-engraved scene, London proofs, colour-hardened frame with cut-outs in the recoil shield for a shoulder-stock, the rear side-screws extended also for a shoulder-stock, colour-hardened hammer, blued grip-straps and trigger-guard, smooth walnut grips, the whole in fine condition, probably a London re-finish but appearing little used; TOGETHER WITH its rare matching number wood butt-stock with integral canteen, the majority of the silver plate missing to the brass-work but generally good condition (2)
Other Notes: Officially the production of London made Navy Colt's finished at serial number 42,000 and were numbered within their own sequence. This revolver is numbered within the American made revolvers and was undoubtedly a special request from the factory
