A FINE CASED 20-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN, serial no. 6006,
for 1815-16 and with later conversion to percussion, twist-iron 30in. barrels, the raised top-rib signed 'DOVER STREET LONDON', engraved colour-hardened breech-blocks with engraved platinum vents, fully engraved top-tang, border and scroll engraved locks signed 'JNO. MANTON & SON, PATENT', scroll engraved slab-sided hammers, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, engraved iron furniture including scrolled grip trigger-guard tang, mahogany brass-mounted ramrod, the whole with much, possibly original, colour and finish; TOGETHER WITH possibly the original mahogany storage case, original parchment trade label to inside of lid, the partially relined interior altered for percussion by allowing the gun to be stored with the locks attached, the case also containing a number of period accessories including a leather shot-belt, a powder flask, cap and wad tins, a turn-screw, powder measure, cranked nipple-key and sundry cleaning items and also containing a letter detailing a past sale in 1899
