A GOOD 16-BORE FLINTLOCK CANNON-BARRELLED PISTOL, MODEL 'QUEEN-ANNE 'FLAT-FRONT'', no visible serial number,
circa 1730, with turn-off 4 3/4in. banded barrel, the breech signed around the circumference 'LONDON', London proofs and maker's mark 'IB' for Lewis Barbar, scroll engraving to the breech-end and top-tang, slightly radiused flat-fronted lock with border and scroll engraving, walnut half-stock with bag-shaped grip and bulbous pommel (broken through and repaired at wrist), engraved brass furniture including rococo escutcheon at wrist, rounded butt-cap with short tail, trigger-guard tang and bow and moulded plate to front of lock
