in the English style but possibly Continental, with triple-banded turn-off tapering cannon-muzzled 2 3/4in. paktong barrel, squared engraved central hammer paktong action with rounded breech-section marked 'PR' together with a recumbant 'S' and 'VFD', both within a starburst border in lieu of proofmarks, 'THOMAS' signed to the left hand side, iron hammer (repaired) and frizzen, walnut bag-shaped butt inlaid with silver wire scrolls and capped with a silver grotesque mask (rubbed Birmingham hallmarks) and a paktong trigger-guard bow safety
