circa 1760, with twist-iron 34 1/2in. barrels, applied white-metal pendant fore-sight, engraved hump-back top-tang with carved splayed sighting groove, gold-lined touch-holes, bevel-edged lockplates with curved pointed tails, the right signed 'FR. GATCHE', the left 'SCHLESWIG', bridle-less frizzens, engraved hammers, finely chequered half-stock with carved raised cheek-piece, carved pistol-grip formed as a stags-head, iron furniture including pillar-fronted broad trigger-guard bow, pineapple finials to both the guard and the ramrod throat, iron ramrod thimbles with rolled ends and horn tipped mahogany ramrod
