AN ITALIAN 16TH/17TH CENTURY 'PEAR-STALK' CABASSET HELMET,
circa 1600, 10 1/4in. at its widest and approximately 8 3/4in. to the stalk, with rolled edge to brim, armourers mark of a crown struck to the rear of brim, stamped copper washers behind the lining rivets (four absent), vestiges of a probably later liner, brim pierced at rear for hanging, stained with some age-cracking
