A MID EIGHTEENTH CENTURY INFANTRY HANGER TO THE WESTMORELAND MILITIA,
circa 1750, with slightly curving clip-point single-edged 24 3/4in. blade, single fuller running alongside back edge, large 'B.O' and broad arrow stamp to forte, solid brass hilt with heart-shaped guard, the outside of guard engraved around the edge 'M. WESTMORELAND' and 'GC.12' (possibly Grenadier Company weapon 12), three bar knuckle-guard, swollen, spirally fluted grip and round urn pommel, no scabbard, some damage to blade edge
