circa World War One, with slightly curved 'Wilkinson' style 33 1/2in. blade (light staining), blind fullered for two thirds its length and etched with scrolls within arabesque borders, the right hand side marked 'ROYAL' and 'ARTILLERY', the left with a 'GRV' cypher, nickel-plated three-bar gothic hilt, wire bound sharkskin grip and chequered back-strap with integral ribbed pommel-cap, together with its leather field scabbard with long silver-plated throat
