circa 1890, makers number 44950 to barrel and underside of action, 26in. octagonal barrel with matted top flat, open sights with two folding leaf sights marked 50, 100 and 150, bead fore-sight, the breech end engraved 'JAMES WOODWARD & SONS. 64. ST. JAMES'S ST. LONDON. S.W.', and '.300', non-selective ejector, plain action retaining traces of renewed finish, 14 1/2in. pistolgrip stock with steel pistolgrip-cap and buttplate, Hackett snap fore-end, weight 5lb. 8oz.
