26in. nitro chopperlump barrels with raised matt rib, open sights and two folding leaf sights for 100, 200 and 300 yards with silver-inlaid sight lines, ramp-mounted bead foresight with flip-up moonsight and fold-over protector (with locking catch), tubes engraved 'ARMY & NAVY C.S.L. LONDON.', '"470 - 3 1/4 SOLID METAL CASE. 75GRS. CORDITE. 500 GRN. BULLET."', treble-grip action with removable striker discs, manual safety with blue enamelled 'SAFE' detail, border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining some original colour-hardening and finish, 14 5/8in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, engraved and colour-hardened pistolgrip-cap, sling swivels and including 1in. rubber recoil pad, bolstered fore-end with grip-catch release, weight 9lb. 14oz.

Provenance: We are kindly informed by the keeper of the records, that this rifle was purchased by Lieutenant A.J.A. Douglas in 1914. The rifle was shipped to Bombay on the steamer S.S. 'Arabia' in that year.
