A FINE CASED SILVER-GILT PRESENTATION 54-BORE PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'BEAUMONT-ADAMS PATENT' serial no. 31821,
circa 1867, with 5 3/4in. octagonal sighted barrel, top-strap signed 'THE BREECH LOADING ARMOURY COMPANY LIMITED 4 PALL MALL LONDON', serial numbered cylinder, frame marked 'ADAM'S PATENT NO. 31821' with safety-stop (single-action at fault), chequered walnut butt, yellow-metal shield-shaped escutcheon, blued rammer, the whole profusely engraved with scrollwork and foliage and retaining nearly all its original silver-plated finish with faded gilding (minor flaking), London proof marks, in original fitted mahogany case lined with dark blue velvet with accessories including a silver-gilt bullet mould, Dixon brass-mounted copper pistol-flask retaining nearly all its original lacquered finish, cleaning rod, turnscrew, nipple key and bag of Eley percussion caps, the exterior with burr walnut veneer to lid with engraved gilt shield-shaped escutcheon and ribbon for an inscription
