A .577 REGULATION PATTERN PERCUSSION SINGLE-SHOT SEA-SERVICE PISTOL,
the lock dated for 1855, with blackened 6in. sighted, tapering barrel, military proof and inspectors stamps, border-lined lock signed 'TOWER' beneath the date and a crown over 'VR' behind the hammer, plain walnut full-stock with 'BO' under a broad arrow behind the lock plate together with three inspectors marks stamped into woodwork, iron belt-hook to left hand side stamped beneath with 'W.LEA' over 'HOLLIS & SHEATH', brass butt-cap with screwed 'ears' and iron lanyard ring, brass trigger guard, ramrod pipe and stock end-cap, captive swiveling stirrup ramrod (wood-work marked and bruised, traces of colour and finish)
