A RARE BOXED .44 (RIMFIRE) SINGLE-SHOT OVERCOAT-PISTOL, MODEL 'HAMMOND BULLDOG', no visible serial number,
circa 1867, with blued octagonal profile 4in. barrel, nickel blade fore-sight, rear-sight notch to the top of the blued chequered breech-block release button, the top of barrel signed 'CONNECTICUT ARMS & MANF'G CO NAUBUC CONN.', colour hardened rotating breech marked 'PATENTED OCT 25 1864, colour hardened plain moulded iron frame, chequered wood grips and sheathed trigger, the whole appearing unfired with minimal loss to finish and complete with its makers card carton (worn on edges and corners), the interior with shaped and gummed wood block for six rounds of ammunition
