circa 1872, with blued 8in. barrel, raised sighting rib signed by the maker and with patent dates to 1869, applied nickel crescent fore-sight, long ejector housing, lift-up barrel locking catch to rear of top-strap, break open blued frame, fluted automatic ejecting cylinder, colour hardened trigger guard and single action hammer (colour faded) and smooth flared walnut grips with provision for lanyard ring at heel (absent), the whole retaining virtually all of a period refinish
