circa 1880, 26in. Rigby trademark black powder only barrels, file cut rib engraved in gothic script 'JOHN RIGBY & CO. DUBLIN & LONDON', two folding leaf sights with white metal inlaid sight lines and marked for 150 and 200 yds, ramp-mounted bead fore-sight, Jones patent rotary-underlever, carved percussion fences, non-rebounding back-action locks with bolted dolphin hammers, the top tang mounted with a folding adjustable peepsight, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, light external rusting and patination overall, some finish remaining beneath, 14 1/2in. pistolgrip stock with sling eyes, horn pistolgrip-cap and buttplate, fore-end with grip-catch release lever engraved 'RIGBY'S PATENT', weight 7lb. 7oz.
