dated for 1859, with round 21in. barrel, blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, Birmingham proofs and the number stamped at breech, borderline engraved lock signed and dated on the bar and with 'V.R.' and crown device to tail, walnut full-stock, the right hand side of butt stamped with both Birmingham and Bombay Arsenal roundels and re-issue dates as late as 1887, brass furniture, the trigger-guard tang marked '3-72', iron saddle-bar and ring, two iron barrel-bands and captive pan-head ramrod
