circa 1795, with rebrowned 33 1/2in. two-stage barrels, moulded girdle at transition, gold line and oval poincon (unsigned) at breech, the top-flat of barrel signed 'CLARKE, HOLBORN, LONDON', flat border engraved locks with pointed tails, the tails further engraved with seated birds and signed below the rainproof pans 'CLARKE', swan-necked cocks and rollers to the frizzen springs, chequered walnut straight-hand butt-stock of semi comb-less form with raised cheek-piece, iron furniture including scrolled lower tang, single trigger, walnut side-pieces exposing the bottom barrel, ramrod mounted to the right hand side, dummy ramrod throat to the left, restored with some loss to engraved detail and sharp edges
