30in. nitro barrels with 8mm ventilated matt top-rib with intermediate bead sight, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, hold-open toplever, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'O', 'U' and 'S' details, the topstrap gold-inlaid with the signature 'J. Wheater', floral and scroll engraving, signed 'A. WATRIN', bright finish overall, 14 1/2in. figured pistolgrip stock, weight 7lb. 2oz., in a Browning canvas and leather case

Eight times winner of the British Open, eleven times winner of the Coronation Cup he was also a multiple Olympian, first selected to shoot for Great Britain in the 1948 Games in London (the 'Austerity Games' as it was referred to, with food and petrol still being rationed post the War), he was selected for Rome in 1960, Tokyo in 1964 and went as an Ireland team manager to Mexico in 1968 and Munich in 1972.
