circa 1877, with 7 1/2in. sighted barrel (signature erased), blind-fluted cylinder (barrel flange cracked through but present), plain frame with barrel slide release catch forwards of the trigger-guard, dark brown gutta-percha chequered grips, provision for lanyard ring to base of butt (absent), the whole retaining traces of its original nickel-plate
