for 1854, with octagonal 5in. barrel signed by the maker on two lines near breech, bead fore-sight, rear-sight notch to the hammer nose, open iron frame (traces of colour), roll engraved plain cylinder, brass grip-straps and trigger guard (traces of silver plating) and smooth walnut grip, in a competent reproduction walnut case lined in burgundy baize and including a reproduction flask and an original cap-tin
