dated for 1849, with round tapering 8 1/2in. barrel, U.S. martial proofs at breech, plain bar-action lock (scrubbed of detail), walnut half-stock with brass furniture including domed butt-cap with integral back-strap and side plate co-joined to the barrel-band, and iron stirrup ramrod with button-head, the side cheek of butt stamped with martial cartouches and inspectors initials
