TWO GEORGIAN BRITISH NAVAL ENSIGN'S SWORDS,
late 18th to early 19th century, the first with straight slightly shortened 26in. narrow blade, broad fuller for its full length and possibly signed for 'SALTER, No.13 Strand' at hilt, stirrup guard with two shield-shaped langets engraved with fouled anchors and fitted with a wire bound sharkskin grip and brass backstrap and pommel, the second with 28in. blade of flat diamond cross-section, similar hilt but with moulded and carved langets, wire bound sharkskin hilt and carved lionshead pommel, both with strong traces of gilt and both missing scabbards
