Product Details

PARK RIFLE CO. ENGLAND
AN EARLY PRODUCTION .22 RECOILLESS AIR-RIFLE, MODEL 'THE PARK AIR-RIFLE', serial no. 006,
with floating 17 1/4in. blued barrel, machined bolt-action receiver with telescopic sight rail, blued under-barrel air-chamber running on twin pistons cocked by a cog and chain mechanism operated via an under-lever, chequered walnut thumbhole stock, much finish remaining and fitted with a Bisley Electro-dot 4x40 telescopic sight and mounts

Other Notes: The Park Rifle Company was a short lived venture unfortunately killed off by costs and the emergence of the pre-charged pneumatic as the dominant force in sporting air-rifles, Despite superficial similarities to the Whiscombe air rifles (q.v.), the Park Rifle owes more to Sterling Armaments as many of the original workforce were former employees of Sterling. Indeed, the bolt action receiver is a direct copy of the Sterling HR81 & 83 rifles (q.v.). This example was Roy Hutchinson's second prototype of the Park Rifle, after which he was bought out of the project by James Edmiston, later of Boxall & Edmiston. Only around 400 production rifles were ever produced.
