A RARE CASED .177, .22 & .25 BARREL-COCKING AIR-RIFLE, MODEL 'MKII SERVICE', serial no. S8180,
circa 1938, with matching number 25 1/2in. .22 barrel, the similar .177 barrel un-numbered and the possibly later manufactured .25 barrel numbered '8814', blued receiver with bolt-action barrel lock, central peep-sight to rear, blued air-chamber with patents, no provision for safety catch to the trigger-unit, semi saw-handled chequered walnut butt-stock with horn heel-plate, fair amount of original finish throughout and complete in a believed factory undocumented 'Brady' style canvas case with leather reinforced corners, the interior lined and compartmented in dark red baize, black and gold 'Webley & Scott' trade label inside lid, the tray designed to take the action with compartments for the three barrels below, shaped compartment for an off-centre valve-spout type oil-can and separate compartments for three rectangular pellet tins and a dismountable cleaning rod (all accessories absent) and fitted with a central lock with leather outer straps, the case appearing little-used and including a facsimile copy of F.E. Morton's handbook 'Hints On Air Rifle Shooting'
