23 5/8in. nitro barrel engraved in gothic script 'J. RIGBY & CO. 43, SACKVILLE ST. LONDON' (partially obscured by sight block), block mounted open sights with folding leaf sight, ramp-mounted bead fore-sight with folding protector, receiver ring engraved 'RIGBY .416 BIG GAME', receiver with thumb cutout, recoil blocks, hinged straddle floorplate with push button release well-figured pistolgrip stock, colour-hardened steel pistolgrip-cap (with trap), sling swivels removed (present in case), 14 1/2in. pull including 3/4in. rubber recoil pad, weight 9lb. 11oz., in its full length brass-cornered leather case (lock broken)
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed in March 1953 for an F. Vauvier.
