A RARE .50 RIMFIRE SINGLE-SHOT CARBINE, MODEL 'WARNER'S PATENT', serial no. 447,
circa 1864, with round tapering 20in. barrel, period British black-powder proofs, blade fore-sight, rear-sight incomplete, brass receiver with flip-open brass breech-block, the block fitted with a thumb-lock, manually operated extractor situated beneath the fore-end, traces of maker's details below the saddle-ring and bar, walnut butt-stock with brass heel-plate, walnut splinter fore-end with iron barrel-band, wood-work and barrel refinished
