also known as the '11th New York Volunteer Cavalry Model' because of that unit's adoption of this arm, with 19in. nickel-plated barrel sliding forwards on opening, recessed breech, nickel-plated receiver, central hammer, saddle-ring to left hand side, under-lever forming the trigger-guard and walnut butt-stock with brass heel-plate, re-plated in antiquity
