German, circa 1760, with two-stage swamped iron 8 1/2in. barrel, carved bands at the intersection and with broad flat muzzle, yellow metal inlet scrolls and maker's poincon to breech flats, applied bead fore-sight, solid top-tang, plain flat lock with semi-bevelled edge and pointed tail, signed 'KORB A MILHEIM' below the lozenge-shaped pan, unbridled frizzen, walnut full-stock with carved borders around the barrel, ramrod channel and brass furniture pieces, florally carved apron around the top-tang, 'doves-head' pommel-cap and complex brass escutcheon to wrist, square-backed trigger guard bow (lower tang cracked), ebonised fore-end tip and complete with its brass tipped ramrod
