A RARE, POSSIBLY UNIQUE EXPERIMENTAL BAYONET FOR THE No4 ENFIELD RIFLE,

Product Details

A RARE, POSSIBLY UNIQUE EXPERIMENTAL BAYONET FOR THE No4 ENFIELD RIFLE,
believed manufactured in 1943, with polished reversed bowie-style blade false edged for the last 2 1/2in., black painted MKI style socket stamped with two broad arrows and two 'X' marks, no scabbard but including a later suede blade protector

Other Notes: An old label from a previous collector states that this is a British No4 Experimental reversed bowie bladed bayonet designed 16-10-1943. It has not been possible to verify this, although the blade, whilst smaller, bears distinct similarities to the experimental reverse bowie bladed Australian Jungle bayonet, and could possibly be related to the same trials
