A COMMEMORATIVE SWORD FOR THE MARRIAGE OF LADY DIANA SPENCER TO PRINCE CHARLES, serial no. 0388,
manufactured 1981 in a limited edition of 1000, with 32in. double edged diamond shaped blade etched with flowers and vines and the crests of the families of Prince Charles and Lady Diana, also inscribed 'TO COMMEMORATE THE MARRIAGE OF THE PRINCE OF WALES AND LADY DIANA SPENCER-29 JULY 1981', the silver-plated hand guard of heart shape and engraved with thistles and a variety of other floral decorations, overlaid with a gold crest on a red enamelled ground, split knuckle bow moulded with the names of the couple in relief and round pommel with fine enamelled crests of both families surmounted by a bell-shaped finial, accompanied by a silver sword knot (not supplied with a scabbard)
