circa 1901, 28in. sleeved nitro barrels, rib inscription rubbed, gold-inlaid '2' at the breech-end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/2 choke, scroll-back treble-grip action incorporating J. Deeley and L.B. Taylor patent hand-detachable locks, patent no. 17731 of 28th July 1897, use number 567, the toplever gold-inlaid '2' and engraved 'WESTLEY RICHARDS PATENT ONE TRIGGER', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, A.E. Lard patent single trigger, no. 3952 of 1899, use number 294, with triggerplate mounted barrel selector switch with gold-inlaid 'L' and 'R' details, detachable floorplate, gold-washed locks, acanthus scroll engraving, the triggerguard with a pointer on point, brushed and reblued finish, 13 7/8in. figured stock with steel heel and toe plates, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release gold-inlaid '2', horn finial, weight 6lb. 9oz.
