circa 1912, 28in. nitro reproved barrels, the ribs engraved 'HENRY ATKIN LTD. (FROM PURDEY'S) 41 JERMYN ST. LONDON. S.W.' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/4 choke, Beesley / Purdey style spring opening actions with revised '1909' model ejectors, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, removable striker discs, best fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, the undersides with 'HENRY ATKIN FROM PURDEY'S.' in oval cartouches, retaining some colour-hardening (likely renewed), 14 5/8in. figured stocks (possible replacements), weight 6lb. 8oz., in their leather motor case
